Nestled within the scenic, rolling hills of rural Wales, Claudine’s Victorian farmhouse has been lovingly restored over the years to create a family home that blends its historical roots with a fresh, modern feel.

As a professional chef for Yotam Ottolenghi and The Guardian, Claudine’s kitchen was always destined to be more than just a functional space. Her kitchen is a creative studio, where she brings her passion to life, crafting home-cooked recipes to share with her followers on Instagram and through her site, healthyfamilyfoodideas.com - part of her mission to make easy, family-friendly recipes accessible to all.

“By sharing the food I cook for my family, my mission is to enhance the health of the next generation by helping other families and their children enjoy healthy food in a fun and easy way.”

As with many older properties, the original kitchen was tucked away at the back of the house in a smaller, enclosed space with limited light. But for Claudine and her family, the kitchen truly needed to be the heart of their home and decided to relocate it to a larger, more open-plan space at the front of the house.

“We wanted to move our kitchen from the darker, colder back of the house to a bigger space overlooking the view that will keep the sunlight all day. It’s been well worth it! My new kitchen makes my cooking and creating so much more efficient. With a hidden pantry, a planned area for chopping, hidden bins, and a separate area for the rest of the family to make tea or coffee and have drinks, I have a functional but beautiful space.”

For Claudine, choosing the right flooring to complement her new kitchen’s open and light-filled design was key to achieving the perfect look. She selected our beautiful St Emilion Brushed Limestone tiles on her flooring, running through the entirety of the kitchen, utility, dining room, downstairs bathroom, and pantry. The lighter beige tone instantly lifts the colour palette while adding an undertone of subtle warmth throughout.

“I love the soft and light look the St Emilion Limestone creates, they go beautifully with our light blue kitchen and white stone worktop.”

“I have been so impressed by every step of the choosing, ordering, delivery and aftercare. I've been recommending my tiles to lots of friends!”
